P.E.I. calling on Islanders for input to reach net zero by 2030

P.E.I. is asking its citizens for suggestions on how the province will be able to achieve its goal of net zero by 2030.
The province of Prince Edward Island is asking Islanders to submit ideas to help reach their net zero energy consumption goals by 2030.
“We want to build on PEI’s strengths, while at the same time recognizing, understanding and figuring out where and how we can improve,” said Dennis King, premier of P.E.I. “Our intent is to hear potential solutions from Islanders that will lead to the development of a plan for a sustainable future – PEI’s Path Towards Net Zero.”
Net zero energy consumption means that the total amount of energy used is roughly equal to the amount of renewable energy created. In order to reach provincial goals, several factors will need to be considered including conservation, efficiency, land-use, carbon removal and renewable energy sources, according to the province.
